Child Find:
In accordance with rule 3301-51-03 of the Operating Standard for Ohio's Schools Serving Children with Disabilities, the Columbia Local School District participates in an on-going effort to identify, locate, and evaluate all children aged three through twenty-one with disabilities residing within the district, including children with disabilities who are homeless, are wards of the state, or who are attending nonpublic schools located within Columbia boundaries, regardless of the severity of their disability.
English as a Second Language (ESL):
The district's mission statement is to educate for excellence and we recognize that in order to achieve this aim, some students require more of an investment. The purpose of the ESL program is to provide students with additional services and interventions in order to help them make progress towards grade level curriculum objectives.

The Columbia Local School District offers a resource room and enrichment materials at the elementary level, self-contained classrooms for major subjects at the intermediate level, accelerated math and language arts classes at the middle school level, and honors and advance placement courses at the high school level.
