Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Columbia Local Schools is excited to announce a new program for our families to promote language development in our community, The Little Raider Language Library.  We recognize the challenges families face during the pandemic and would like to extend an opportunity for language enrichment.

Due to closures and limited social experiences, many of our littlest Raiders have not had the same exposure to language rich activities.  With your help, we want to support our young learners and build their confidence.  

The Little Raider Language Library is a quarterly program focusing on promoting language acquisition.  Key concepts will include: Vocabulary, Basic Concepts, Language Expression and Comprehension.  Likewise, aspects of social and emotional development, diversity, and family engagement activities may be included.   Each kit will include a toy, game, or book, extension activity, and language resources. 

We would like to provide parents and families with tools to encourage learning and promote school readiness.  Our program is for Columbia children ages 3-6, however younger and older students may participate with their siblings.

The Little Raider Language Library program is limited to 50 families.  To register, please complete the Google form below. Families will be contacted via email of their participation and instructions for the first package pick up.   We are excited to build language together! The Little Raiders Preschool is proud to announce that we have received a Five Star Step Up to Quality Rating.  Step Up to Quality is a rating system that awards one to five stars to learning and development programs that go above and beyond minimum licensing standards.  Programs with star ratings have highly trained teachers, develop children’s school readiness skills, and are committed to continuous improvement.  For these reasons, the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services are committed to improving early childhood opportunities for all children.
