Congratulations to our All-Ohio Track Athletes - Madeleine Finton who took 4th place in the 1600 m. race and Elijah Goodman who placed 7th in the 300 m. hurdles at the state track meet at Jesse Owens Stadium at the Ohio State University. Madeleine took 9th in the Great season to all Raider Track athletes!
Attention CHS students: You may keep your Columbia High School issued chromebooks and chargers. You do not need to turn them in at the end of the year IF your are returning to CHS in the fall. Students are responsible for keeping chromebooks in good working order. If you have lost or damaged your charger, you are responsible for replacing it. They are available on Amazon. Make sure you check the model name before ordering a replacement.
*** If you are not returning to CHS, including students heading to the JVS, you must turn in your school issued chromebooks and chargers prior to the last day of school. If chromebooks and chargers are not returned you will be charged for these items and it will be posted to your PayForIt account totaling $290.00.
Attention athletes: Get ready for the 2022-2023 sports season and sign up to get your physicals! Make your appointment at the 14th annual Free Sports Physicals event offered by the Center for Orthopedics on June 14 located in Sheffield. Click on the link to make an appointment. Print your copy of the 2022-2023 Pre-Participation Physical Form here and fill out the history section before going to your appointment. Time slots fill up quickly!
Report Cards: You may access and print a pdf. of your student’s report card in PowerSchool. The High School main office will be open Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The office will be closed June 14-June 29. It is strongly suggested you call the main office before arriving at CHS if you need assistance with a school related issue. The Guidance office will reopen in mid August. School hours for the 2022-2023 school year are 7:30 am - 2:48 pm. If your child is a new student attending Columbia High school this fall, online registration must be completed on our OneView link. Click on our enrollment/registration tab on the left of this page for complete information. Class supply lists are available here for fall 2022. Take advantage of summer sales and get your supplies early. Attention parents: Immunizations for the Class of 2023:The Ohio Department of Health (ODH), under Ohio Revised Code 3701.13 and 3313.671, requires all students entering the 12th grade to provide written proof that they have received 2 doses of the Meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine. Your child may have already had this vaccine; however, the school may not have proof on file. Please see the attached letter. Attention Parents: School fees for the 2021-2022 are overdue. Please check your child’s PayForIt account or PowerSchool account to see what your fees are associated with your child. Fees must be paid in full for your child to be able to use extracurricular transportation. Pay online (PayForIt) or send in a check or cash to the main office. Parking Permit applications will be available in August. Eligible students must have a 1.5 cumulative GPA, a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance coverage and return the completed application with the $30 fee to the main office. Permits will be ready for pickup beginning August 15 and will be valid for the 2022-2023 school year. The fee may be paid by cash, check or on the PayForIt site under optional fees. Payment and/or proof of payment must be presented to pick up permit.
Columbia High School Football is taking applications for their Youth Camp for boys entering grades 3-8 in the fall of 2022. The camp takes place June 21-23 at CHS See the flier for details and to sign up your young Raider.
Attention Fall Athletes: Athletic forms WILL BE open on OneView BEGINNING June 22, accessed from the high school home page and must be completed prior to your child participating in athletic programs for the 2022 fall season. All OneView forms must be updated each season. All sections of your child's OneView account must be completed by July 25. If you are unable to upload your child's physical form, all hard copies must be handed in to Trainer Adam no latear than July 25. When completing please make sure you click on the 2022-2023 tab to complete the correct school year forms. Students will be denied participation in any practice or scrimmage if the online forms are not completed by the deadline. All athletes must have a valid physical by the first day of practice. Go to the OneView portal on our website to complete. Please note, you will be prompted to upload your child’s current physical form. Please upload the physical in pdf format. All pages must be scanned as one document and then uploaded. If you are unable to upload the physical form, please bring to the main office and we will scan and upload for you. The hard copy of your child’s current physical form must be on file or submitted to your child’s coach/director no later than the first official day of practice. Instructions on completion of the forms is available on our website. OHSAA sports physicals are valid for one calendar year. If you experience difficulty, you may email Mrs. Kobe at [email protected] or Mr. Jump at [email protected] with the physical or drop it off at the office or with Trainer Adam no later than July 25 and we would be happy to upload for you.
Pay to participate fees of $150 per sport per season (fall, winter and spring) are due on the sports picture day. The fall sports and marching band photo session is Wednesday, August 10. There is an option to pay this fee through the PayForIt system or bring cash or check to the main office. If paying online, please forward your receipt to Beth Kobe at [email protected] to verify payment and update our records. There is a family cap of $300 per season. Past due academic fees are due before athletes can board any school transportation to away sights. You may request a payment plan by contacting Beth Kobe at 440-236-5001 or by email request to the email above. Please pay these fees asap, they are now overdue.
Athletic Booster membership forms and information are available in the main office and online. Please consider joining and help support 7th-12th grade CLSD athletics.
Graduation requirement of community service hours. The community service log form is available in the offices at CHS and from Mrs. Meadows at LCJVS as well as on the website. Turn in log forms to Mrs. Hechko as they are completed. All students are required to complete this graduation requirement of 20 hours. Students should attempt to complete 5 hours per school year. Hours completed over the summer are eligible for use as required hours for graduation.

LIFEGUARD AND WSI POSITIONS AVAILABLE:The Strongsville Rec Center is looking for lifeguards, water safety instructors, and Head Guards with availability to work mornings, afternoons, and evenings. Starting at $12.50/hr to lifeguard, $13.50/hr to teach swimming lessons, and $14.50/hr to head guard, you have the opportunity to make some extra spending cash. Lockers have now been assigned to all CHS students. Students may check their powerschool accounts for their locker assignment and combination. If you have problems with your locker or combination, see Mrs. Hechko in the guidance office.
Athletic Season Passes: Season passes will be available for purchase in the main office for home athletic events in August. Senior Citizen Passes may be picked up in the High School main office as well. New this year, the senior citizen pass will admit senior citizens to all LC8 home and away events, as well as all Columbia home games. Senior citizens should pick up a pass so you can use it at the LC8 away games. Passes are good for those 62 years old and older.
Parent Reminder: Update your EMA information on the OneView Parent Portal and agree to our Chromebook Agreement in August. Only students with completed and updated EMAS will have a Chromebook available! If you have questions or problems updating your OneView account, call the main office at 440-236-5001. School transportation to home residences for CHS students and JVS students is available in the afternoon. JVS students are provided with transportation to and from the JVS. The morning JVS bus leaves the High School at 6:30 am sharp.

Please make sure all school fees and lunch charges have been paid as the release of transcripts and diplomas are held for unpaid fees. School transportation for extracurricular activities will also be denied. If you would like to set up a payment plan, please contact Mrs. Kobe in the main office at 440-236-5001. You may pay your school fees through the payforit system online through the school’s website. You may also pay in the main office with cash, check or credit card in the main office at CHS.
Early Release and Late Arrival forms must be completed if you would like to participate in this privilege. The GPA requirement is a minimum of 2.0. Turn in completed forms to the guidance office prior to the day you would like to begin using this privilege.
All students who are enrolled in CCP classes off campus as well as high school classes during the school year may complete a permission slip to leave the high school when they are not scheduled in a class. These slips must be signed by a parent and returned to the guidance office. Students will not be permitted to leave during the school day without this signed acknowledgement from a parent or guardian.
Fees may be viewed on your PowerSchool account and PayForIt. Payments may be made online through the PayForIt system or by check or cash in the main office. If you desire a payment plan, contact the main office. Athletes must have academic fees paid in order to use school transportation for away competitions. Please note, if paying your fees online you may notice an optional fees box. It may list Pay to Participate and Parking Pass. These are not assigned to your child's fees. If you are a 7-12 student participating in athletics or a high school driver, you may choose those fees and add to your payment options.
