8th grade Send-Off Dance!!
State Science Fair: Columbia Science Fair students have been very busy the last few weeks. The following students were eligible to participate in the State Science Fair judging - Manraj Chauhan, Japneet Kaur, Grace Murphy, Marisa Murphy, Gabriel Awada, and Dhriti Jayant. These students were among 796 students from across Ohio that participated in this event. ALL six of the Columbia Middle School students received a Superior Rating! They have been invited to attend the Celebration of Science Day in Columbus at The Ohio State University on May 10th.
On Saturday, April 26th, five students participated in the BEST Medicine Science and Engineering Fair at Cleveland State University. Japneet Kaur and Dhriti Jayant each received Bronze Awards in the Health and Medicine Division, Grace and Marisa Murphy received a Silver Award in the Environmental Division, and Manraj Chauhan received a Participation Award. Japneet received an additional special award for her project in Health and Medicine. Congratulations to all of are awesome students!!
Attention Parents and Students!!: Please make sure to check our Lost & Found for any items you may be missing. All items will be items have been placed on tables in the lobby until May 9 for parents/students to view. After May 9, all items will be donated to a local charity.
6th grade Outdoor Education Information:
1.) STUDENT DROP OFF on Tuesday, April 29 between 8:45-9:00.
Parents must drive their child to school. Buses depart around 9:45.
2.) LUGGAGE
All luggage will be checked by CMS staff in the cafeteria prior to departure to camp. NO ELECTRONICS of any kind. Students will go to their classroom to wait until everyone's luggage gets checked in.
3.) MEDICATION
A parent must bring in any medication to the building (cafeteria) along with the completed MEDICATION FORM.
4.) STUDENT PICK UP on Thursday, May 1 between 1:15-1:30 (depart from camp at 12:30).
Parents must park in the parking lot and walk up the sidewalk to pick up their child with their luggage. All medications must be picked up by a parent in the outside foyer at this time.
8th GRADE PANORAMIC PICTURE!
D.A.R.E. Graduation: The 5th grade D.A.R.E. Graduation will be held in the K-8 gym on Wednesday, April, 30 at 1:00. Parents are welcome to attend.
7th grade Stone Lab Field Trip: Click HERE for some guidelines and helpful hints to make the 7th grade field trip to Stone Lab on Tuesday, May 20 or Wednesday, May 21, an enjoyable experience. If you have any questions, please email one of the seventh grade teachers.

- Payment options: Pay through the PaySchools website accessed on the main page. Mail payments, along with the bottom portion of your statement, to the address listed on statement. Accept payments in the main office by check made payable to Columbia Middle School or exact cash. Credit card purchases are also accepted in person in the office and will not incur the additional fee which is charged when pay in person. Chromebooks, Chargers, and Insurance: Students are responsible for keeping chromebooks in good working order. If you have a damaged or chromebook that is not working properly, bring it to the office for repair. If you have lost or damaged your charger, you are responsible for replacing it. They are available on Amazon. Make sure you match the brand name of charger to the brand of your chromebook (ex. Lenovo, Dell, etc. ) and order the 65 watt option. Chromebook Insurance covers one screen break. Take advantage and bring in the cash or check for $25, note this must be on a separate check from any school/ athletic fees. This optional insurance must be purchased by September 15. New students to the district will have 2 weeks from their first day of school to purchase insurance. See Chromebook letter HERE
Report Cards: You may access and print a pdf. of your student’s report cards in PowerSchool. Please note, report cards cannot be viewed on the app. You must login to the PowerSchool website to view and print report cards. Access PowerSchool from the MS website (toggle on left).
Incoming 7th grade students: The Ohio Revised Code 3313.67 requires that a student entering 7th grade provide written evidence of being immunized against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, (Tdap) and meningococcal (MCV4) or is in the process of being immunized against these diseases.
You must provide the school with a current immunization record for your child.

PowerSchool Mobile APP: The mobile app district code is ZZGS. Report cards cannot be viewed on the app. You must login to the PowerSchool website to view and print report cards.
