STRENGTH TRAINING AT THE HIGH SCHOOL has resumed as of Monday, Feb. 10th. 

On behalf of Columbia Middle School and Copopa Elementary, we would like to invite you to Breakfast with a Buddy! Please join us in an effort to strengthen the family and school connection while offering simple fellowship and fun! Breakfast with a Buddy will be from 9am-9:30am following this schedule:
Monday, Feb. 24 - Student Last Name Beginning with A, B, C
Tuesday, Feb. 25 - Student Last Name Beginning with D, E, F, G, H, I, J
Wednesday, Feb. 26 - Student Last Name Beginning with K, L, M
Thursday, Feb. 27 - Student Last Name Beginning with N, O, P, Q, R, S-Sh
Friday, Feb. 28 - Student Last Name Beginning with Si-Sz, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z
*Please fill out the form below no later than February 7. Due to overwhelming response and limited space, we are asking that you please be mindful of how many “Buddies” students are inviting.

Quarter 2 Report Cards: Report Cards are complete and available to view in Power School. Please take a moment to check your child's grades, along with Honor Roll or Merit Roll distinction. You may access and print a pdf. of your student’s report cards by logging in to PowerSchool. Report cards cannot be viewed on the app. You must login to PowerSchool to view and print report cards. Access PowerSchool from the MS website (toggle on left).

Columbia Middle School Science Fair: The Science Fair will be held after school on February 19th at Columbia Middle School. See Mrs. Smith or email Mrs. Karl at [email protected] with any questions.

Columbia Local Schools is bringing the dentist to school on March 25th! If you would like your child to have an appointment, please go to www.MySchoolDentist.com to sign up. For more information, click HERE


Strength Training: Strength training for all athletes in grades 5-8 will be after school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3-4 pm at Columbia High School. You must have a permission slip to attend. Bus riders will ride to the high school on their normal bus. If you are a car rider, you may ride over to the high school on Bus #6. Please have your ride at the high school by 4:00pm.

CHROMEBOOK INSURANCE: Insurance is no longer available for the 2024-2025 school year. 

ALL FEES PAST AND PRESENT ARE OVERDUE. IF YOU DESIRE A PAYMENT PLAN OR HAVE QUESTIONS, CONTACT THE OFFICE AT 440-236-5741.
  • Payment options: Pay through the PaySchools website accessed on the main page. Mail payments, along with the bottom portion of your statement, to the address listed on statement. Accept payments in the main office by check made payable to Columbia Middle School or exact cash. Credit card purchases are also accepted in person in the office and will not incur the additional fee which is charged when pay in person. If you have any questions, please contact the office at (440) 236-5741.
Chromebooks, Chargers, and Insurance: Students are responsible for keeping chromebooks in good working order. If you have a damaged or chromebook that is not working properly, bring it to the office for repair. If you have lost or damaged your charger, you are responsible for replacing it. They are available on Amazon. Make sure you match the brand name of charger to the brand of your chromebook (ex. Lenovo, Dell, etc. ) and order the 65 watt option. Chromebook Insurance covers one screen break. Take advantage and bring in the cash or check for $25, note this must be on a separate check from any school/ athletic fees. This optional insurance must be purchased by September 15. New students to the district will have 2 weeks from their first day of school to purchase insurance. See chromebook letter HERE

Report Cards: You may access and print a pdf. of your student’s report cards in PowerSchool. Please note, report cards cannot be viewed on the app. You must login to the PowerSchool website to view and print report cards. Access PowerSchool from the MS website (toggle on left).
 
Incoming 7th grade students: The Ohio Revised Code 3313.67 requires that a student entering 7th grade provide written evidence of being immunized against tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, (Tdap) and meningococcal (MCV4) or is in the process of being immunized against these diseases.
You must provide the school with a current immunization record for your child. 
 
Medications: Medication forms must be filled out each school year by your physician. Contact Nurse Mindi with any questions at [email protected] 

PowerSchool Mobile APP:The mobile app district code is ZZGS. Report cards cannot be viewed on the app. You must login to the PowerSchool website to view and print report cards.

Athletics

7th and 8th grade Student-Athletes: All 7th and 8th grade student-athletes must complete the athletic forms on OneView prior to the first mandatory practice of the season. A current OHSAA Physical Form must be uploaded in PDF format onto the OneView site and a hard copy must be submitted to your child’s coach no later than the first official day of practice. Students will not be permitted to participate in any practice without the submission of the online forms on the OneView portal on our website. The hard copy of your child’s current physical form must be on file or submitted to your child’s coach no later than the first official day of practice. See the Oneview instructions HERE for first time users to create an account. OHSAA sports physicals are valid for one calendar year. The 2024/2025 OHSAA Preparticipation Physical Form is available in the information rack across from the office or downloaded HERE   
School fees must be paid in full before using school transportation to away sites.

7th and 8th grade Participation Fees: The 2024-2025 athletic participation fee is $150 per athlete/per season with a $300 family cap per season for athletes in 7-12 grade.
Fall Participation Fees are due by September 1, 2024.
Winter Participation Fees are due by December 1, 2024. 
Spring Participation Fees are due by March 1, 2025.
School transportation for all extra curricular activities will be denied until all past and current school fees are paid.

Columbia Athletic Boosters:  This organization works with the Athletic Director to ease the financial burden of extra-curricular athletic activities, grades 7th through 12th, on the school system and parents.  All money raised goes back to student athletes in the form of equipment, uniforms, scholarships and more.
