Hello Raider Families!
My name is Toni Filut and I am honored to serve as the CMS Principal. I look forward to working together as we continue our journey toward excellence. Over the past two years as the CMS Principal, I have been a part of witnessing what it means to be a "Columbia Raider" as the staff, students, families, and community members all demonstrate incredible dedication and spirit for our school district. Together, we have all been part of building a community that fosters collaboration and prioritizes our students. I am filled with joy to resume my journey in Columbia as we continue to progress in our academic successes, social and emotional growth, and creating a positive learning environment. As principal, I am committed to building a community of learners where students are provided meaningful, engaging instruction with high academic expectations.
The 2023-2024 school year will be the start of my 23rd year in education. During my educational career, I have had the pleasure of being a math teacher, a building leader, club advisor, and curriculum leader in Brunswick City Schools. In addition, I served as the Principal of Keystone Middle School for eight years prior to coming to Columbia Local Schools in 2021.
On a personal note, my husband, Keith, and I have a son starting college and a daughter that is a sophomore in high school. In my free time, I enjoy watching my children participate in football, tennis, and lacrosse. We have had the pleasure of being able to travel the country to watch our children play in their respective sports. I also enjoy cruising, going to the beach, Disney World, and spending time with my large extended family.
